KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): Nangarhar's Cricket Academy beat the Bara Club by six wickets in a match of a tournament currently underway in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, an official said on Saturday.

Featuring prominent cricket clubs from the northwestern province, the tournament is being played in Jamrud sub-district of the Khyber tribal region near the Afghanistaninfo-icon border.

Bara elected to bat first after winning the toss in the stipulated 20 overs game, Nangarhar Cricket Academy coach, Taj Malak Alam, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The side was restricted to 127 runs in the 18th over, thanks to Aftab Alam's five wickets haul. Qari Fitrat took two wickets while Farid Behsudi and Zamir shared one wicket each.

Nangarhar easily reached the target in the 14th over with six wickets in hand, the coach said. Karim Sadiq top-scored with 58, guiding the visitors to victory.

Nangarhar captain Hasti Gul Abid told Pajhwok Afghan News over the telephone that his boys outplayed their rivals in all departments of the game.
