Literacy course participants receive food aid

CHARIKARinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): The Ministry of Womeninfo-icon's Affairs distributed food assistance to more than 900 female participants of a literacy course in central Parwan province on Wednesday, an official said.

Edibles such as wheat, ghee, peas and salt were delivered to 910 women from Salang, Jabalus Saraj and Ghorband districts on the completion of a six-month literacy and tailoring course.

The objective behind the programme was to strengthen the women's economy, Director of Women's Affairs Shah Jahan Yezdan told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Fariba, whose husband is disabled, is the only breadwinner for her family. One of the participants, she received 25 kilograms of wheat, 3kg of ghee, 6kg  of peas and 1kg of salt.
