CHARIKARinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): Two teenage girls were hospitalised after lighting caused a fire in their house in Sayedkhel district of central Parwan province, officials said on Monday.

The incident happened on Sunday night, the district chief, Abdul Shakur Jahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the victims, two sisters, were immediately taken to Parwan Civil Hospital where they were in a coma.

Head of the hospital, Dr. Abdul Wali Qadiri, said one girl was paralysed and in a critical condition. The girls are eight and 14 years old.

Their brother, Shukrullah, said: “It was 3am when our house was hit by lightening, causing a fire in the room where my sisters were asleep.”
