Environmental protection campaign launched in Jalalabad
JALALABAD (Pajhwok): After kicking off the environmental protection campaign, the government of eastern Nangarhar province urged people to should participate in the drive to ensure protection of environment in Jalalabad and other parts of the province.
Salim Khan Kanduzi expressed these views ahead of launching the campaign which was attended among others by civil society activists and journalists.
The governor told Pajhwok Afghan News: “I am concerned about environmental protection therefore I have devised a proper plan for environmental protection.”
Fazal Rabi Hamim, director provincial protection agency, explained that civil society activists, journalists and several government officials had participated in the campaign. He requested residents to participate in the campaign.
Mohammad Hanif Gardiwal, deputy governor, warned stern action would be taken against shopkeepers who were involved occupying footpaths.
