Pakistan a ‘strategic enemy’ of Afghanistan: Muslimyar

Pakistan a ‘strategic enemy’ of Afghanistan: Muslimyar

Apr 23, 2016 - 16:32

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Meshrano Jirgainfo-icon chairman on Saturday said Pakistaninfo-icon was Afghanistaninfo-icon’s ‘strategic enemy’ that received support from the West to kill Afghans.

The Upper House chairman, Fazal Hadi Muslimyar, told journalists in Kabul that they had told former president Hamid Karzai and the current government that the Talibaninfo-icon were not independent.

“Pakistan wants to extend the violence to other provinces of Afghanistan, therefore the government should be careful in the peace process,” he said.

Muslimyar said he was not against peace, but wanted to protect the national interest and achievements in the peace process.

“Pakistan is a strategic enemy of Afghanistan and Taliban are an instrument of war for Pakistan. The government should make its stance clear on the neighboring country because our people are massacred in different areas of the country under different names. We would have won the war had it been directly with Pakistan after losing thousands of people during the past 14 years,” he said.

The Senate chairman criticized western countries and said Pakistan in collusion with the west had been involved in killing Afghans.

He said the Westerners destroyed the complete system of Taliban in Afghanistan in 40 days, but their silence about the militants coming from Pakistan was questionable.

In addition to keeping fighting rebels, the Afghan government should use other ways and international agreements to press Pakistan for stability in Afghanistan, he said. He asked politicians and people to stand against Pakistan as a ‘defined enemy of Afghans’.
