16 Taliban killed in Farah airstrikes: official

FARAH (Pajhwok): At least 16 Talibaninfo-icon militants were killed and three others wounded as a result of airstrikes in western Farah province, local officials said on Saturday.

The Governor’s spokesman, Mohammad Nasir Mehri, told Pajhwok Afghan News Afghan and foreign forces jointly bombed militants on Friday’s night in Ganhkan area of the provincial capital, killing 16 insurgents.

Raj, Dehak and Nowbahar localities of the provincial capital, Farah City, are still under Taliban control.

Taliban have not yet commented about the airstrikes, but they claimed causing causalities to security forces in Bagh-Pul locality of Farah.
