KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Afghanistaninfo-icon under-19 cricket team on Tuesday left for India for preparations in the lead up to the Under-19 Asia Cup  set to be played from December 8- 22 in Sari Lanka.

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) spokesman Farid Hoktak told Pajhwok Afghan News the Afghan U-19 crew would practice at Greater Noida Cricket Stadium in New Delhi.

The 20-member Afghan team was selected after going through six months of practice, matches and performance assessment by the selection committee, ACB deputy CEO Dost Mohammad Nazari said.

Nazari said the Afghan side would play practice matches with local clubs in Mumbai as well and the warm-up matches would help leave a positive impact on their skills.

Selection committee head and coach Dawlat Khan Ahmadzai said the selection process of the under-19 side had been transparent.
