Ibrahimi blasts Pakistan for sponsoring terrorism

Ibrahimi blasts Pakistan for sponsoring terrorism

Feb 19, 2017 - 14:36

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Wolesi Jirgainfo-icon (lower house of parliament) speaker has accused Pakistaninfo-icon of sponsoring terrorism in the neighbouring countries.

On a visit to India to attend the South Asian Speakers' summit in New Delhi, Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi warned terror could morph into a huge threat to Pakistan itself.

In an interview with The Times of India, he said: "Terrorism in South Asia is the biggest and most serious issue, with Afghanistaninfo-icon the main sufferer.”

He claimed Pakistani rulers were openly aiding terrorism openly. Islamabad’s stance on the issue was not in the interest of other regional countries.

While praising the Indian parliament and Inter-Parliamentary Union for inviting Afghanistan to the summit, he expected cooperation on combating terrorism in his country.

"Terrorism is a very serious threat to the countries, particularly Afghanistan, and we need cooperation from India on improving lives of our people and security in political areas," Ibrahim said.
