Kabul blasts were probably 'chemical attack': Parrikar

Mar 02, 2017 - 17:38

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Indian defence minister Manohar Parrikar on Thursday said Wednesday’s double blasts in Afghan capital Kabul were probably ‘chemical attack. ‘

"As per the reports coming from the southern and northern parts of Afghanistaninfo-icon, I have seen photographs of local population suffering from blisters and some chemical weapons,” Parrikar said in his address at the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO).

He said the Indian Army should be well-prepared to tackle any difficulties as he referred to the blasts in Kabul.

“At this moment, I don't have confirmation on this matter but the photos were quite distressing."

He continued: "Though we have not faced nuclear or chemical attacks, but we will have to be prepared at every moment to deal with the issue."

The death from the two separate attacks has risen to 22 with at least 119 people injured, according to local officials.
