KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Injured in a clash, a young man from southeastern Afghanistaninfo-icon has undergone a successful hip replacement surgery in India, a media report said on Sunday.

Caught in crossfire between insurgents and security forces two years back in Paktika province, Abdul Qahar’s hip was severely wounded. He was treated at the Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad.

According to The Times of India, the Afghan citizen was operated upon for hip replacement under the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Now he is all poised to fly back home.

"It is not a small thing to spend thousands of rupees on us strangers. The people of this city have been very kind," Abdul Razzaq, Abdul Qahar’s father, was quoted as saying.
