Kerala youth fighting for Daesh killed in drone strike

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): A young Indian man fighting for the Islamic State (Daesh) militant group has been killed by US troops in eastern Afghanistaninfo-icon, a newspaper reported on Sunday.

The Malayali, who joined Islamic State (IS) in July last year, was killed in a drone attack. The victim was identified as Bestin Vincent, alias Yahya, of Palakkad.

According to The Indian Express, the news of his death was revealed when Asfaq Majeed, a fugitive group member from Padna in Kasargod, sent a text message over Telegram to his relative in Kerala on Saturday..

About 30 Indian citizens were killed in the US bombings which included Keralites.  Yahya and his brother Easa had embraced Islam from Christianity three years ago.

“Yahya (Bestin), whom you all consider a Jew have become martyr Inshaallah. It was in frontline of war against American Kafirs (infidels),” the message read. Last year, police had registered a case against Vincent.
