PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Afghan and Pakistani ministers have met on the sidelines of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) conference in Japan.

Deputy Finance Minister Mustafa Mastoor and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar conferred on matters of mutual interest during the meeting in Yokohama on Friday.

Mastoor called for stepped-up progress on development projects being executed in his country with financial assistance from Pakistaninfo-icon, the state-run news agency APP reported.

He hoped a recent visit to Kabulinfo-icon by a high-level delegation, headed by National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, would strengthen bilateral relations between the neighbours.

Dar stated believed the two countries needed more interaction to enhance trade ties. He said the Pakistan-Afghan Joint Economic Commission would meet later in the year.
