Zarif, Rabbani discuss joint efforts to battle terror

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who arrived in Kabul on Sunday morning, went into talks on bilateral cooperation with his Afghan counterpart Salahuddin Rabbani.

Heading a high-level diplomatic delegation, Zarif was accorded a warm welcome by Deputy Foreign Minister Nasir Ahmad Andisha. At their meeting, the foreign minister discussed ways of combating terrorism and sectarianism.

Scheduled to meet President Ashraf Ghani, Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah and other senior officials, Zarif suggested the neighbours should join hands to ward off common threats.

Discussions on Tehran-Kabul relations and ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in different fields and international and regional developments are high on Zarif’s agenda.
