Children among 6 civilians injured in Helmand explosion

LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): At least six civilians, including five children. were wounded in a blast in southern Helmand province on Sunday, an official said.

The explosion took place in the Momin area of Nawa district this morning, the governor’s spokesman, Omar Zwak, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said five children and a man were injured when their tractor struck a landmine planted by Talibaninfo-icon. The injured were evacuated to hospital for treatment.

But Col. Zahir Gul Moqbil, commander for 4th Border Police Brigade, said one person was killed and six others wounded in the incident. He said the injured were shifted to hospital by border police.

Officials at the Lashkargah Emergency Hospital confirmed receiving three injured people, who are said to be in stable condition.
