Pakistan’s MQM convener expresses sympathy over recent terror attacks

WASHINGTON (Pajhwok):  A senior leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) called on the Afghan Ambassador to the US Hamdullah Mohib and expressed his sympathy over the killing of civilians in recent terrorist attacks.

Convener of MQM Nadeem Nusrat met Mohib on Saturday at Afghan embassy here, during which he offered sympathy on behalf of MQM, his founder and leader Altaf Hussain and people of Pakistaninfo-icon over the killing of Afghan civilians during recent acts of terrorism.

“He also handed over the Afghan Ambassador a personal letter of condolence from MQM leader Mr Altaf Hussain for Afghan President Mr Ashraf Ghani expressing deep sorrow and grief over the killing of Afghan civilians,” the MQM said in a statement.

During the meeting Nusrat said people of Afghanistaninfo-icon have been suffering for decades and deserve peace and stability in the country more than ever. He added that MQM and people of Pakistan fully support every effort to restore lasting peace in the war-torn country.

Expressing his gratitude over this gesture of support, Mohib said people of Pakistan had welcomed their Afghan brothers on their soil at one the most critical times in their history and Afghan people deeply respect this.

Mohib said that strong democracy and educationinfo-icon are the key for lasting peace and sustainable prosperity in the region and the incumbent Afghan government is committed to achieve this.
