New chapter to open in ties with Belarus: CEO
KABUL (Pajhwok): CEO Abdullah Abdulalh on Wednesday hoped a new chapter would be opened in relations between Afghanistan
and the Republic of Belarus once bilateral ties between them were given a practical shape.
Abdullah, who is currently on an official trip to the East European country, made the remarks during a meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko today.
A statement from the CEO office said both the sides discussed and exchanged views on cooperation in industry, agriculture, training areas and establishing public service delivery centers.
Lukashenko said his country was ready to expand relations with Afghanistan and wanted development and improvement of the war-torn country.
He said he had always stressed the importance of good relations with Kabul during his meetings with state leaders of Afghanistan’s neighbouring countries.
Belarus President also congratulated the Afghans on their country’s 98th Independence Day, hoping Afghanistan would achieve long-lasting stability and development.
Abdullah for his part said Afghanistan eyed opening a new page in relations with Belarus.
The CEO, while referring to past meetings among delegations of the two countries, said Kabul was ready to expand ties with Minsk in areas of industry, agriculture, and machinery.
