Casualties as lawmaker’s guards attacked in Bagram

MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen shot dead a parliamentarian’s guard in the Bagram district of central Parwan province on Saturday.

Mirdad Khan Nijrabi, a Wolesi Jirgainfo-icon member from Kapisa province, told Pajhwok Afghan News three of his bodyguards were wounded in the gun attack.

“We were on our way to Bagram. Gunmen stopped a vehicle in my convoy in Khwaja Kala area and opened fire at the occupants,” the lawmaker said.

One guards was killed while three others were wounded, Nijrabi said, adding the attackers also suffered casualties in return fire.

“Whosoever has conducted the attack has committed a cowardly, terrorist act,” the parliamentarian remarked.

Meanwhile, the Kapisa governor’s spokesman also confirmed the attack. Qaes Qadri called the attackers robbers, who had fired at the MP’s guards out of fear.
