Delaram police chief, guard killed in Taliban ambush
KABUL (Pajhwok): The police chief for Delaram district of southwestern Nimroz was killed on Sunday along with one of his bodyguards by Taliban
insurgents, officials said.
Najibullah Hayat, Delaram administrative chief, confirmed Lt. Abdul Hakim, the Delaram police chief, had been killed in a Taliban ambush.
He said Hakim was on a patrol duty and was returning when came under attack from armed rebels near Wali Fuel Station about two kilometers from the Delaram district centre at around 3pm (Sunday).
Hayat said the attackers also suffered casualties after the police chief guards returned fire, but exact figures were not known.
There was no word from the Taliban about the killing of the police chief and his bodyguard.
