KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Chief Executive Officer Abdullah has said free, fair and credible election will leave a positive impact on the security situation in the country.

The CEO expressed the view during a meeting with representatives and experts of South Asian electoral bodies in Kabul, a statement from his office said on Sunday.

The visiting delegation is in Kabul to participate in the 8th consecutive meeting among election officials of South Asian states. The chairmanship of the meeting was handed over to Afghanistaninfo-icon this year.

Najibullah Ahmadzai, head of the Independent Election Commission (IECinfo-icon), said Afghanistan would be hosting the representatives of poll panels and watchdogs for three days. The IEC would try to learn from their experiences.

The CEO hoped meetings among the election watchdogs would help improve social connectivity and partnership. He said the meeting was important for Afghanistan because many elections, including presidential, were going to be held in the next two years.
